Our rod holders have been made in the USA since 2009 of High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) which is a polyethylene thermoplastic made from petroleum.
HDPE
- HDPE has little branching, giving it stronger intermolecular forces and tensile strength than lower-density polyethylene. It is also harder and more opaque and can withstand temperatures as high as 248 degrees Fahrenheit and as low as -148 degrees Fahrenheit.
- HDPE is resistant to many different solvents and chemicals.
- HDPE is much safer compared to steel or PVC as PVC tends to shatter into sharp pieces.
- Individually molded pieces increase the strength and durability.
